My Getaway - Part 3

Okies! Let me introduce you to my favourite place in Penang! A place so holy and so peaceful... A place I feel so close to Godma!! It is a temple and the name is Kek Lok Si. My heart feels really calm when I'm there... It's a heaven I would say... The surroundings of the whole place is full of hills and front view is overlooking the whole of Penang! =) Anyway, pictures speak a thousand words... See for yourself...

1st place we went to when we reached Kek Lok Si... The turtle pond! So many of them... See until my eyes blurrrr... They separate the pregnant ones from the rest so that baby turtlings can be protected... =P

They were all trying their best to climb over one another... I don't know what & why they're doing that also... -.-"

Main Entrance of Kek Lok Si.

An entrance to another temple in there.

A pagoda which you can climb up.

Anney & I are not very greedy. She made 3 & I made 2!! Keke... =P

Stairway to...

Jue Lu...!!

Take a look at how big the whole Kek Lok Si is...

Come Come... Put Your Hand Near To Receive Godma's Love! I received mine from Her! I love Godma too!

(There'll soon be a shelter over Her)

Behind Godma is this sutra:

Bottomline: I really love this place very much & I'll be back!! ^^

My Fairytale Of Me & My Astronaut!

I'm picturing this as I'm typing...

In 2yrs or so... my astronaut returns to Earth...

1st thing he does = knock on my door with 99 roses + a box of chocolates + 1 tub of dublin mudslide + 1 packet of my choco marshies + 1 hotcake happy meal & say "sorry to keep you waiting, love."

I'll be so speechless to see him!! I'll have tears in my eyes... I'll hug him oh-so-tight... in my heart I'll have lots & lots & lots of things to tell him... happy things to share, sad things to share & also complain to him how people out there are bullying his precious... But I'll not spoil the moment... so I'll just keep quiet & hug him...

Then we'll hold hands, go to the beach with our flipflops... at the beach, we'll walk along the shore with our bare feet on the soft sand & the occassional seawater making their way to our feet... we'll remain quiet... till we find a nice spot to sit, back to back...

I'll then say "don't ever leave me... if you need to go outer space again, bring me along, will you?"

He'll just look into my eyes, smile charmingly as always, then put his hand around my shoulders... I'll lean my head and rest it comfortably on his shoulders... He'll then call me "silly girl..." but in his heart, he is saying "I'll never leave you again."

We'll enjoy the moment for around 15 minutes, then I heard a horse trotting near us... it's a white horse! We'll get up the horse, ride on it slowly along the beach, chatting & laughing along the way... There're nobody around... Nobody matters already... We can only see each other in our eyes...

My honeymoon period starts since then... no expiry date though... We'll honeymoon for 3 more yrs & then we'll move into our small & messy sty which we claim to be our cosy castle!

Every morning, he'll nudge me outta bed, I'll get up wearing his white long sleeves, my short shorts, bundling up my hair & I'll head to the kitchen & make his favourite breakfast - bread toast + fried egg + 2 sausages + a cup of coffee. I'll kiss him before he leaves the sty for work.

Every night, I'll nudge him outta bed, he'll get up wearing the pyjamas I bought him & his messy, uncombed yet charming hairstyle & head to the kitchen & make me supper - peng gang bread + 3-in-1 milo. He'll kiss me before I fall asleep in his arms. Then we'll honeymoon again & again & again till death do us apart...

Keke... crap! 3am!! I'm still imagining & typing this whole lengthy crap... -.-"" Okie okie, before I end this crap, let me give my story a title! Hmm... Let's call it "The fairytale of me & my astronaut"! *Giggles* Will my story come true? *Yawn* Tell you 2 yrs later... *LoL*

My Getaway - Part 2

Okies! Let me share with you more about my Penang Trip! What should I talk about first...?

OH YAH! This is definitely worth mentioning! On my way to Penang, towards the 3rd quarter part of the journey, everyone was already soundly asleep... I couldn't really sleep... woke up here & then... hugging Xiao Pooh all the way... Sitting by the window, I looked out of the window... saw 2 bright shimmering stars... As I was short-sighted, I took out my glasses, put them on & WOAH!! This is what I saw!!

No kidding! Really look like this!

I couldn't capture it down with my camera, I painted this... The whole night sky was really full of stars! Really look like this! If you wanna count the number of stars, you'll really be seeing stars! Maybe I'm 'sua ku' but I've really never seen such beauuuuuuuuutiful picture before! I think you can see whatever stars - Big Star, Small Star, Lucky Star, North Star, Confucious Star, Kong Zi Star, Venus Flytrap Star... ^^ However, I tried my very best to spot a shooting star... no luck... =x

I kept looking at the sky... for quite sometime and the next thing I know was - we're approaching Penang Bridge! As Penang is a small island by itself, to get to Penang, we must cross the Penang Bridge!

Taken on top of Penang Hill! Can you see how long the bridge is? =)

Passing by the bridge in the afternoon! Nice righty? =)

I love the bridge! Maybe related to my studies but I find it simply niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! *LoL* It's a really really long bridge... Nice lar!! Keke...

We visited many temples in this trips! One of which is the Guan Yin temple (built in 1800), the most ancient temple in Penang.

The Guan Yin Temple looks smaller on the outside but inside is rather big... =)

We spotted this on the way to Guan Yin Templeā€¦

Hehe... they still use this to pay their carpark fees o... =P so cute!! Anney taught me how to read it! They don't pay their carpark the way we do in Singapore... Mostly is you park there, then an indian (usually) will walk over, write you a receipt & you pay him...

Another temple where we classified it as "The Most Enriching Place" = The Snake Temple! The temple has snakes inside it. On the main altar, there're 2 coils at the sides (1 at each side)... & 3 to 4 snakes coiled around it. As they were motionless & the colours of the skins are quite fakey (like painting!), we almost thought they're fake... So, out of curiosity, we asked an ah ma who is selling incense & joss sticks in the temple... she told us they're all real ones!! I asked her why aren't they moving at all? She told me, they're sleeping in the day... at night, they'll come down and move around... keke... so interesting!

Then walking to one side, there's this snake exhibition place where we get to "feel", "touch", "hug" & "carry" the snakes! Eeeeeeyer... can't believe myself... touching some small snakes still no big deal... I touched this 80kg python... The uncle who is handling the snakes, still tell me that python just ate 3 live chickens... if u smell of chicken, that's it! Think you'll be the 4th one to lie inside his stomach! An auntie who is working there, told me if the python were to eat me up, she won't have to feed the python for at least 2 months!! My friends offered to leave me behind... =( *Thanks lehhh* Keke... I know they're just joking... how can they bear to? *heh heh* =P

*Da Dangggggggggg* 80kg Python! One fatty lazy snake!

While taking the pic, this biggie python moved at where I was touching it! Scaredddd the hellllllllll outta me man!! The pic got me flying away!! *LoL* Nope... not showing here... wahahaha... But I succeeded at taking the 2nd shot! *Clap Clap* =P

&& Mama!! Save me!! King Cobra is out!!

The fiercest & most venomous of all snakes ---> *Da Dang!!* King Cobra!!

The cobra head is not flat like that when it is resting... It looks like a normal snake... It's only when provoked then the head becomes flat flat & it'll stood up (like the pic above)! The auntie & uncle told us that if you're near a cobra & it actually stood up, plssssss don't ever move! Cobras go by movements... If you move, it'll attack you straightaway! You must wait till the head comes down, like back to normal, then you can start to run!

Then I thought of those trumpet blowing turban men... blowing the small trumpet, swaying left and right & slowly moving up... the snake in a basket also move up, following the turban man's movement! *LoL* So I popped the question to the auntie... Auntie says that kind is cobra loh... that's why many people in india died coz they don't know how to handle a cobra... they anyhow catch as they wanna earn a living... so in the end, got killed by the cobras... Awwww...

Another kind of cobra... This one looks clean & naked... -.-"

This man in the pic got this long big scar on his left hand! The auntie told us he got bitten by a cobra while working! The cobra injected the venom into him & *PoOf* he was off into a 5-day coma in the ICU... the doctor scrapped off his flesh to prevent the venom from spreading... and he survived miraculously! *Thank God* But then, his left hand is weak since then... couldn't hold heavy things anymore... but he still not scared man... still playing with cobras... can kiss cobra somemore!! -.-" *Good Luck* Dude! You are the man (The 'hm-kia-si' man)!

*YuCkS yUcKs YuCkS* (x150) Creature!

This is Gecko! Lizard-like creature... cannot touch one!! Read about it yourself... I see ler... goosebumps also stand up man! Like a big big lizard with brown spots all over its body! I feel that it somehow has this evil grin... -.-" really larrrr... u see carefully... it's grinning all the way loh!! Don't what it is thinking also... must be some evil thoughts! *GooseBumps Standing*

I can't help but noticing this:

Lil' fluffies!

What are these cutey things doing here in a snake temple??? Omg... I hope it's not what I think...

The auntie told us we can use RM$10 to buy 3 types of food for the snakes & watch them eat! Snakes eat chickens, rats, hamsters! All eaten alive! She continued to add that we could choose which snakes we want to see! Wth... how could we?? Like so cruel... temple somemore... I can't imagine... seeing them eat up cute fluffy hamster den still smiling and amazed meh? Still say: "wah! See see! Whole thing go down ler!!" Or see the poor chicken trying its best to fly away from the big-mouth-snake but eventually ended up in the stomach & we go "wooooo... the snake mouth really big lehhh!!"?! Or the poor lil' grey micey squeaking to death & we exclaimed "woahhhhh... the snake is faster than the mice ooooo!"?? Dun wan dun wan... I know it's a food chain... but I dun wan to be the one feeding them... *Amitabha*

My Weekend Getaway!

Weeeeeeeeeeeee!

I'm back in Singapore!! =)

Had a great weekend getaway at Penang! ^^

Though I'm down with a fever since yesterday... I still enjoyed the trip nonetheless!

Fever maybe due to lack of water consumed... coz I refused to drink much water coz I don't wanna visit the loo loo often... you know, gals are more ma fan to go to public toilets... especially if the loo loos are smelly, wet, stinky, dirty & squeezily small... =P So I just took sips and sips when I'm thirsty... hee...

It could also be mild food poisoning coz Anney got food poisoning on the last day... =( And we ate almost the same food =( She told me maybe the apple juice we've had doesn't suit her stomach... She got diarrhoea and vommited... *Godma Bless Angelic Anney*

Well... we spent 2 days there & I must say that the 2 days were so so so very well-spent! =) Anney & her bf, Alex, played very good hosts! Luckily we got them with us throughout, I spent less than $150 (SG) for the whole trip! They drove us all around... We felt so pampered! In Penang, it's very very crucial that you have your own transport... You rarely see a cabbie around... even have, they also chop you like carrots! The bus... omg! Old, non-aircon, dark... and you can wait up till 45 mins, also will not come... I heard they anyhow collect money from you too... -.-"

Sight-seeing in Penang = *Thumbs Up* They've got such hilly areas & you can see fog/mist/clouds among the forests on the hills! Just like HeAvEn!

Nice Mah? ^^

Hee... We went by coachy... ard 9 hrs or so... sit until backside gonna explode! =P Luckily never ler... *LoL* Along the whole journey, I got Xiao Pooh with me... =) Whenever I'm not home, I would bring Xiao Pooh along with me... =)

Presenting... Xiao Pooh! I love Xiao Pooh... =)

We took the 9pm coach & reached Penang around 6am! =) On the coach, we met a couple, very nice people also... Kelly & Ken! They're a young couple & both are malaysians. They were going back to Ken's hometown (Penang). Kelly helped me with contacting Anney... They were really helpful & super niceeeeeeeeeee! So glad we met nice people during our trip! It's so important that you meet nice people along the way, espcially in foreign countries... *SmileS*

Anney reached an hr later with Alex... We hugged each other tightly the very first moment we met! Awwwww... so warm... =) Then it was breakfast for us! =Pp They drove us to Gurney... opposite our breakfast place, is a wide wide sea... so wide that you can't even see the other end... they've got no breakwaters... all natural... really different from our Singapore beaches... *Wink*

First Picture I Took In Penang!

The Sea As If No Boundary... =)

(To Be Con't...)
